Updates: Transforming lives with the gift of water
- Since 2022, Sirat Al Mustaqim Welfare Foundation has reached out to 150 communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh by drilling boreholes and installing water hand pumps.

Water, a fundamental right, is a luxury denied to millions. Shockingly, 790 million people worldwide, constituting 11% of the global population, lack access to clean drinking water. The 2022 Floods has worsened the situation for water stressed communities in Pakistan. Among the hardest-hit districts were those already grappling with under development, high malnutrition rates, poor water and sanitation access, and low school enrollment.
About six months after catastrophic floods in Pakistan, more than 10 million people still lack access to safe drinking water in areas affected by the record-breaking rains, according to a United Nations report.
This crisis hits hardest in rural areas, where women and children embark on exhausting journeys daily, covering several kilometers to secure water. The toll is not only physical; it impedes personal development, and communities grapple with diseases from contaminated water sources, whether from open water courses or unsafe sewerage disposal.

In 2023, we reached out to 140 communities, providing the Gift of Water to 7,000 people, ALHAMDULILAH. Our goal for 2024, we’re amplifying our efforts tenfold, aiming to reach 1,000 communities by the year’s end.
